PRIVACY POLICY

We have created this privacy policy (Version 15.03.2020-321162228) to explain to you, in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, what information we collect, how we use data, and what choices you have as a visitor to this website. Unfortunately, these explanations often sound very technical by nature. However, we have tried to describe the most important things as simply and clearly as possible.

Since 2009, there have been so-called "cookie regulations" stating that storing cookies requires the consent of website visitors (i.e., you). However, reactions to these regulations vary across EU countries. In Germany, the cookie regulations were not implemented as national law but were largely incorporated into § 15 (3) of the Telemedia Act (TMG).

If you would like to learn more about cookies and are not afraid of technical documentation, we recommend the "HTTP State Management Mechanism" from the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Storage of Personal Data

Personal data that you transmit to us electronically via this website, such as your name, email address, postal address, or other personal details in the context of submitting a form or commenting on a blog, are stored securely together with the time and IP address and used only for the stated purpose. These data will not be passed on to third parties.

We use your personal data solely for communication with those visitors who explicitly request contact and for processing the services and products offered on this website. Your personal data will not be shared without your consent. However, we cannot rule out that these data may be accessed in case of unlawful behavior.

If you send us personal data via email—outside of this website—we cannot guarantee secure transmission or protection of your data. We recommend that you never send confidential data unencrypted via email.

The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6 (1)(a) of the GDPR (Lawfulness of Processing), which states that you give us consent to process the data you have entered. You can revoke this consent at any time—an informal email is sufficient. You can find our contact details in the legal notice (imprint).

Your Rights Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Under the provisions of the GDPR, you have the following rights:

  • Right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR)

  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) (Article 17 GDPR)

  • Right to restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)

  • Right to notification – Obligation to notify regarding the rectification or erasure of personal data or the restriction of processing (Article 19 GDPR)

  • Right to data portability (Article 20 GDPR)

  • Right to object (Article 21 GDPR)

  • Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing—including profiling (Article 22 GDPR)

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection laws or that your data protection rights have otherwise been infringed, you may contact the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).

Cookies

Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary to ensure the basic functionality of the website. For example, if a user adds a product to their shopping cart, navigates to other pages, and later proceeds to checkout, these cookies ensure that the shopping cart remains intact—even if the user closes the browser window.

Functional Cookies

These cookies collect information about user behavior and whether users encounter error messages. Additionally, they help measure website load times and performance across different browsers.

Targeted Cookies

These cookies improve user experience by storing preferences such as locations, font sizes, or form data.

Advertising Cookies

Also known as targeting cookies, these cookies are used to deliver personalized advertising to users. This can be useful but also annoying. Usually, when visiting a website for the first time, you will be asked which types of cookies you want to allow. This decision is, of course, stored in a cookie.

Deleting Cookies

You decide whether and how you want to use cookies. Regardless of which service or website they originate from, you always have the option to delete, allow only certain cookies, or disable them altogether. For example, you can block third-party cookies while allowing others. If you want to check which cookies are stored in your browser, change cookie settings, or delete them, you can do so in your browser settings. If you generally do not want to allow cookies, you can configure your browser to notify you whenever a cookie is set. This way, you can decide for each cookie individually whether to allow it or not. The procedure differs depending on the browser. The easiest way to find instructions is to search for “delete cookies Chrome” or “disable cookies Chrome” on Google—replacing "Chrome" with your browser name, such as Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
